Whether you choose to go small and understated by just planting a border garden or two with flowers, or go large and showy by taking up half of your yard in flower gardens, that is up to you. Either way, the blooming plants, and buds will make the curb appeal of your home go up immensely.
When visitors come to your home, treat their eyes to the feast of what your imagination combined with the buds and flowers can concoct! Each kind of flower brings its unique look to the garden mix. Try to imagine your flowers as brush strokes in an Impressionist painting. Allow the different heights and colors of each flower and their buds to compose a picture.
When planting your flower gardens, try to think spatially as well as to think ahead. It may seem that when you first plant your flowers that there is too much room around them in your flower garden, and many people end up with over-crowded enclosures because of this. Along with learning their water and sun requirements, when purchasing seeds or young plants, make sure to learn how large they will grow both in height and circumference. It’s much easier to plant a garden when you know how large everything will be and it also makes it easier if you grow flowers that have the same water and sun requirements in the same areas. You won’t have to remember which plant needs what individually if all of them in the immediate area enjoy the same conditions.
Don’t forget that sun, water and the soil in your yard may not be able to support all of the needs of your plants. It helps to give your flower gardens a good all-around fertilizer that should be safe for all of the plants, as well as any animals or humans that come into contact with them. A great non-toxic solution that will assist all your plants and make the buds turn into blooming beautiful flowers is a fertilizer that not a lot of people know about: Epsom salts.
There are two good ways to apply them. The first is to put them in as you are planting. Just dig the hole, sprinkle a little in and plant as usual. The second way is to apply the salts after the plants are already in by sprinkling some on the ground and watering them in. Your flower gardens will appreciate them and so will you when the entire garden is full of buds and blooming flowers, making your yard beautiful.
When you have finished your current home renovation project, after all your interior painting and exterior painting are done, there is nothing quite like a beautiful flower garden to make it all look complete.
