Social Media: Follow the Conversation
We have a Facebook page — "Austin Strategic Mobility Plan" — and we're on Twitter as @austinmobility. We're also using the #mobilityatx hashtag to help keep track of community conversations. The ASMP is also participating in SNAPPATX.org, a civic social networking initiative to inform, encourage civil discourse, and facilitate 24/7 citizen input on big decisions for Austin's mobility.
Austin Mobility Forums
The ASMP is holding various community forums locations throughout Austin. These forums will give Austinites the chance to work with their neighbors to tell what they and their communities need and want from the city's transportation system.
June 17: City of Austin ASMP Open House
The City will be holding an open house to share information and ideas regarding future transportation projects on June 17, 4pm–8pm, Austin City Hall, 301 West Second Street.
April 2010: Imagine Austin and ASMP — Community Forums and Speak Week
The ASMP and the Imagine Austin Comprehensive Plan have joined forces to listen to the community about the important decisions we face. Find out more at http://www.imagineaustin.net/events.htm.
February 8-11: Setting Austin's Transportation Priorities
The February forums will focus on expressing the community values and how they can shape near-term and long-term investments in transportation. Five evening events (6-8 pm) will be held at locations throughout town, along with a morning event Downtown. More information on the February mobility forums.
Help the City Identify Gaps and Bottlenecks
The city has already collected more than 1,200 needed projects that will help close gaps and unclog bottlenecks in Austin's transportation system. These gap projects have been identified not only by city staff, partners and technical experts but also by the general public and participants in the Imagine Austin comprehensive planning process.
You can let the ASMP know anytime about a gap or bottleneck that needs to be fixed. E-mail to submit a gap project for consideration.
Community Meetings and Presentations
The ASMP can come to your neighborhood or community group to answer questions, get your input and give you the latest program information. E-mail to request a presentation.
You can also find a library of previous presentations among the materials on our Resources page.
